Double Jogging Stroller

Jason and I went to the mall last Friday night. I don't know when the last time we were at the mall together was, but it's definitely a rare occurrence! The reason for our outing was to look at a stroller at REI, not just any stroller, but probably the most expensive double jogging stroller there is.

If you didn't know I have an affinity for high-priced strollers, which is kind of strange since I try to carry my babies everywhere I go, for as long as I can. We actually bought a Bugaboo Frog when we had Delia and I loved it. I thought it was a great stroller, but we also had a car at the time and I didn't feel like I was using it enough to justify the price tag, so we sold it and we were stollerless for a long time.

I bought a used lightweight stoller when I was making the cross-country journey with the two kids, so I could maneouver my way through the airports. And that's what I have been using for Delia, and I'll probably keep using it for Delia when we go on bus trips and carry the baby.

But I figure if I have a jogging stroller that I can put both girls in and Joshua rides his bike, we can get anywhere within a couple of miles. The reason I like the BOB is that you can put the baby in starting between 6-8 weeks. We have a bike trailer that turns into a jogging stroller, but the baby isn't supposed to go in that for a year, which doesn't really help me and it's a pain to steer. The BOB did handle great, I don't think you could expect anything less for the price tag! The only downfall I saw was that it is huge, but I don't see a way around that when you're looking for a double stroller.

Anyone out there with a BOB? Do you think they're worth the money?

Anyone out there with a jogging stroller they love that might be more affordable?

I have a BOB and love it! We took it to San Fran on a trip and it was what saved the trip! Charlie was so comfy in it, and didn't mind riding in it during the whole trip. We even took it on a hiking trail where strollers weren't advised but it did great! As for running with it, it's amazing. Easy peasy to push, strong frame, big canopy for the kids sun protection. The front wheel locks or swivels. I love it. It was pricey, but once I made the plunge I was so glad I did! And besides if you need justification, it's not like your paying to drive a car. A nice stroller seems like a must for your lifestyle. You'll be putting it to good use! I'd say the ease of pushing it alone would be good enough for me! Hope you get it! I bet you'll love it as much as I do!

Holy price tag! It sounds like you'll get great use out of it though, and you won't have to lug it in and out of a car. Huge pain with double strollers! Our first double stroller (front & back) took up our entire trunk! So the umbrella double stroller has been great that way - plus I'm just really cheap.
Anything on CL or ebay? I'll look around out here. Good luck!

i've heard amazing things about the phil & ted stroller. i don't know if it's a "jogging" stroller but it's pretty sporty and all of my cali friends have it. also kinda pricey but it's supposed to be awesome. ALSO a lot of time if you buy these strollers on ebay shipping is free and it's slightly cheaper.

Well I don't have one but I always covet Kate's when we are together. Her stroller kicks my strollers bum. It really is nice.

LOL! This is not the most expensive double jogging stroller. Take a look at the Mountain Buggy Urban (and this one's on clearance).

You might also want to consider The Baby Jogger City Mini Double. It's cheaper and those who have it really like it. Just keep in mind that it is not meant for jogging (even though it's called a jogging stroller).
