Sisters in Seattle

My sister is coming to Seattle this weekend and we're going to stay downtown. She'll only really be in town for one full day.

What do you think is the best thing to do in Seattle?

Best places to eat?

Best thing to do - Pike's Place Market, best place to eat - Ivars. (Maybe - I really haven't done all that much, but these are two possibilities anyway :)

This website has some ideas (well, like 320 :) http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g60878-Activities-Seattle_Washington.html

Well, Pikes does have some really good restaurants, not just the touristy stuff, which are actually good too. But there are a lot of good places right there.

It depends on what you are looking for, something unique to Seattle? Obviously there is lots of good seafood. Ivars, Dukes, Salty's.

Austin and I like an Italian/Pizzeria type restaurant called Tutta Bella. We've also heard great things about Serious Pie but have not tried it out.

There are a lot of good restaurants over in West Seattle too if you are willing to drive there, it only takes a few minutes from downtown.

I find Citysearch helpful with things like this sometimes.

I've only been to Seattle once for one afternoon-Pike's Place Market was all we had time for, but I thought it was so much fun to walk around and see everything there.

I hope you guys have SO much fun! That sounds perfect, although I'm sure the time will fly by. Can't wait to hear all about what you decide to do!

(and keep a list for when we finally make it there to visit you!)

I love getting the donuts that are in the covered area to the left of the famous fish stand (if you are looking at it.) Yum! Oh, and we have "the fork" Lincoln just found it when he was putting away the silverware.

I know this is a little late, but maybe if you're looking for a place in the future the Crab Pot is a really fun place to go with tourists. It's at one of the Piers (can't tell you which, but I think it's the one with a merry-go-round inside) and you can order meals for 2, 4, 6, etc that they bring out in buckets and dump in the middle of your table. Your plate is a wooden board with a mallet and the bucket is full of crab legs, shrimp, mussels, clams, potatoes, etc. Be warned that the shrimp still has the shells, antennas, and eyes.

It's a lot of fun if you like seafood, although I think it was a bit pricier. My family still talks about it and we went probably 4 years ago.

Glad I found your blog!
