What's for Breakfast

Our standard Green Smoothie Recipe:
1 orange
1 banana
a couple of handfuls of spinach
ice
1/2 cup water

Eliza loves them - I'm still trying to convince the other kids!

I'll try it on Baby J!

Aw, cute baby! I love how babies will try anything once for awhile!

You can always throw blueberries in with the mix, which will turn it a deep purple color! They won't notice the spinach that way (it'll still be there though)! And blueberries pack a punch of antioxidants. :)

good call on the blueberries. we'll have to try that too. robby has a phobia of touching/eating anything green. he suspects it will be healthy and thus "gross". we love spinach + fruit smoothies though. so good. :-)

I second Rose.

We do smoothies with dinner most nights. Our (always changing) recipe:
spinach, carrots, frozen fruit (almost always: bananas/blueberries/strawberries)
Vanilla soymilk
Pineapple or pomegranate juice.
(we freeze lots of over-ripe bananas and keep them on-hand along with every kind of frozen fruit the commissary stocks.)

When you use frozen fruit, you don't have to use ice. The boys love it. They have no problem drinking it...but it is always purple...!

We have these about 3 times a week for breakfast. I have to call it 'green juice' and let Amelia see me throwing strawberries in it. Then she drinks it.
I need to go to a blueberry patch and get pick some to freeze to stick in it as well. Everyone seems to recommend that.
