Bye to Grandma and Grandpa

Grandpa, Joshua, Delia, and Grandma at Stanley Park. It was a sad goodbye at the airport. Delia didn't want to let her Grandma go! We had lots of fun and are looking forward to their next visit after the baby!
Driving back from Vancouver we stopped at a roadside stand for some raspberries.

There was no one at the stand, but we just left a check!
I made some raspberry jam and I think we'll freeze the rest!

Fresh jam and butter

I made cooked strawberry jam for the first time, and it is so good! I have always made strawberry freezer jam because that's what I thought I preferred, but this jam is amazing! We used ripe, local strawberries and a low sugar pectin. I got my canner out for the first time (after owning it for four years) and sealed the jars. Jason thought it would be fun to make fresh butter at the same time, so he and the kids shook, and shook, and shook some cream until it separated. It was neat to see and so yummy to eat!
We had whole wheat biscuits with dinner so we could enjoy our creations!
