For our Pagan Tree!

Jason had a change of heart and decided to help us decorate! He says it was the Bing Crosby Christmas music that put him in the right Spirit. Thank you, Mr. Crosby!
One of Joshua's creations.

Delia hard at work.

When in doubt - add glitter!

Salt Dough Ornaments

2 cups flour
1/2 cup salt
3/4 cup water

We cooked ours in the microwave for about 4 minutes per batch.

Tiger cats Beware!

We have been reading The Swiss Family Robinson this week. After we read yesterday, Joshua asked if we could make a bow and arrow - I looked online for some ideas and thought it could be a project for Jason and Joshua to do together. Then Joshua told me he had some wood (aka: collected sticks from the playground) down in the garage that we could use. He brought it up and in two minutes we had a bow and arrow he was happy with. He and Delia spent some time yesterday afternoon hunting tiger cats and other wild animals!

Science Experiments

We picked up this book at Goodwill last week and Joshua's been loving it. We love shopping at Goodwill for books. I found out after we moved in that the library is pretty hard for us to get to, so I have stocked up with quite a few books from Goodwill ($0.79 for all children's books). We have been able to find a lot of children's classics there like the Chronicles of Narnia series and all the Little House on the Prairie series. And it's fun to see what they have - every time it's something different!
Here's a picture of Joshua and Jason learning how a seismograph works.

And Joshua loved burning the string in two with a little help from the sun!
