Double Jogging Stroller

Jason and I went to the mall last Friday night. I don't know when the last time we were at the mall together was, but it's definitely a rare occurrence! The reason for our outing was to look at a stroller at REI, not just any stroller, but probably the most expensive double jogging stroller there is.

If you didn't know I have an affinity for high-priced strollers, which is kind of strange since I try to carry my babies everywhere I go, for as long as I can. We actually bought a Bugaboo Frog when we had Delia and I loved it. I thought it was a great stroller, but we also had a car at the time and I didn't feel like I was using it enough to justify the price tag, so we sold it and we were stollerless for a long time.

I bought a used lightweight stoller when I was making the cross-country journey with the two kids, so I could maneouver my way through the airports. And that's what I have been using for Delia, and I'll probably keep using it for Delia when we go on bus trips and carry the baby.

But I figure if I have a jogging stroller that I can put both girls in and Joshua rides his bike, we can get anywhere within a couple of miles. The reason I like the BOB is that you can put the baby in starting between 6-8 weeks. We have a bike trailer that turns into a jogging stroller, but the baby isn't supposed to go in that for a year, which doesn't really help me and it's a pain to steer. The BOB did handle great, I don't think you could expect anything less for the price tag! The only downfall I saw was that it is huge, but I don't see a way around that when you're looking for a double stroller.

Anyone out there with a BOB? Do you think they're worth the money?

Anyone out there with a jogging stroller they love that might be more affordable?

making music

We spent the first couple of days of the week outside, the weather has been beautiful. On Monday we walked to get Delia a hair cut and to the donut shop. We figured since we were half way to Jason's work we'd surprise him with a donut. When we got there he was just on his way out the door (so glad we didn't miss each other) and we got to walk home together.

On Tuesday we walked to Silver Lake Park and played with friends from Mom School. Joshua rode his bike both days and I think it was about ten miles altogether - so glad that he can ride his bike and that he enjoys it. I did get my stroller and it makes it pretty easy for us to get out and do stuff.
We made some drums from food storage cans
(the tops are canvas that I painted with watered down glue)

We also made the toilet paper roll kazoos - very fun, but they didn't last long!

Eliza is just along for the ride!

And check out my sister's news here. Yay!

Car-free cruisin

The weather has been pretty nice lately. It's been good to be able to get out with all the kids.

It seems whenever I'm out I get at least one person who will tell me that it looks like I have my hands full. I don't know if I look overwhelmed most days or if it's just the size of the stroller!
